Irene Safren has been involved with our Conservancy since 1984. We learned about her when interviewing naturalist from the Schuylkill Valley Nature Center. Irene had just completed an internship in Environmental Education there. She was hired and started the successful tradition of children’s programs at the cabin.
For the past 17 years, Irene has worked as an educator at the Churchville Nature Center in Bucks County, PA. She also leads seasonal programs for the Morris Arboretum.
Vivian Williams has a B.A. from Ursinus College and has done graduate work in environmental science at the University of Delaware, Towson University, and Goucher College as well as completing the Barnes Arboretum program. Vivian has her own environmental educational consulting business and continues on the staff of the Stroud Water Research Center as the Education Programs Manager where she has worked since 1994. She is a consultant for the Philadelphia Water Department, Public Education Dept. Prior to her work at the Stroud Center, Vivian worked for various non-profits including the Audubon Society, Community Arts Center in Wallingford and Tyler Arboretum.
She is a board member of the Chester Ridley Crum Watershed Association and is on the Environmental Advisory Council in Media, PA. Vivian has been teaching art and nature programs at the Eagles Mere Conservancy for over 20 years.
