A sweet day for the Forest Stewardship
SUGARTIME
Saturday, September 24 was a sweet day for Forest Stewardship! Rain the evening prior to the event softened the ground making it easier to plant 35 trees. Varieties of oak, pine and serviceberry now complement the well-established trees from our 2008 project. Even sweeter was the job of installing deer fence to protect a large crop of sugar maple seedlings which had planted themselves. Fueled by maple syrup muffins, camaraderie was high among the 14 volunteers who completed the work in record time. We’ll keep you posted on our Fall 2012 plans.

Our organization heavily relies on donations. Your donation is very much appreciated. Thank you.
